K-State American Concrete Institute student chapter named Institute Excellent University
The K-State American Concrete Institute student chapter has been named an American Concrete Institute Excellent University for 2013.
The Award for University Student Activities identifies the universities that qualify for excellent or outstanding status, based on points received for their participation in select American Concrete Institute-related activities/programs. Points are based on the number of student members at the university, university students serving on institute committees, university students/faculty attending institute conventions, the presence of an active student chapter at the university and local chapter participation in meetings/events and other concrete-related industry.
The university will be recognized during the American Concrete Institute spring 2014 convention March 23-27 in Reno, Nev. The university also will be featured in Concrete International magazine.
This is a joint effort among architectural engineering and construction science, and civil engineering departments. Without the dedication of Hayder Rasheed, Asad Esmaeily, Kyle Riding, Katie Loughmiller, Kimberly Kramer, and the construction science, architectural engineering and civil engineering students this award would not be possible.
