Analog Games Day March 29
K-State Libraries will host Analog Games Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Hale Library's historic Great Room. The event will feature games of all kinds that require no television, computer or electricity of any kind.
"Games have been around for all of recorded history, long before we started plugging them in," said Daniel Ireton, undergraduate and community services librarian. "Games are an emerging educational tool as well and teach many skills including collaboration, problem solving, communication and critical thinking.”
Many different board and card games will be featured as well as games developed by K-State Libraries and the Information Technology Assistance Center for the recent Ready Player One Alternate Reality Game, a game affiliated with the 2013 Kansas State Book Network Common Read program. Attendees are encouraged to play the games available or bring their own favorite games to share. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given away.
Analog Games Day is sponsored by K-State Libraries, Information Technology Assistance Center, the English department, Manhattan Public Library and Game Hounds.
