Women's studies faculty member presents at environmental history conference

Submitted by Valerie Padilla Carroll

Valerie Padilla Carroll, assistant professor of women's studies, presented at the 2014 American Society for Environmental History conference in San Francisco.

Her paper, "The Geneology of New Domesticity: Radical Eco Homemaking in the 20th Century" traces the genealogy of new domesticity, gendered affective labor, and eco/feminist activisms across the 20th century through the writings of self-sufficiency and back-to-the-land authors Myrtle Mae Borsodi and Helen Nearing.
