Applications being accepted for Tilford Faculty Incentive Grants
The office of the provost invites applications for the 2011 Tilford Faculty Incentive Grants, "Infusing and Assessing the Tilford Multicultural Competencies in the Academic Curricula at Kansas State University," for instructional staff -- tenured, tenure-track and instructors. The applications are due Wednesday, June 1. The Tilford Incentive Grants request for proposals and application guidelines are available at Tilford grants.
Proposals are invited to create or enhance existing strategies to infuse and assess the Tilford multicultural competencies within the student's educational experience. Proposals for the Tilford Incentive Grants would encompass the following: (a) redesign a curriculum at the course/departmental level; (b) develop multicultural teaching and learning materials, assignments and assessments; (c) investigate disciplinary practices that foster multicultural service learning opportunities; and (d) expand interdisciplinary practices for teaching and learning in a multicultural context.
Grants will be awarded for variable amounts, a maximum of $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for interdisciplinary teams. Awards will be announced in July.
