K-State senior awarded prestigious national fellowship
Ryan Whelchel, K-State senior in architectural engineering, has been awarded the American Concrete Institute Cagley Student Fellowship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Whelchel will use the $7,000 award to cover expenses for tuition, residence, books and materials while completing his Bachelor of Science degree involving concrete-related studies.
"Ryan is most deserving of this fellowship," said Kimberly Kramer, associate professor of architectural engineering and construction science, and Whelchel’s adviser and nominating faculty member. "With his work ethic and determination, as well as his intellectual abilities, I believe he will have a successful future in structural engineering."
