Summer Alumni Invitational Exhibition, reception Friday
Kansas State University's art department invites attendees to the Summer Alumni Invitational Exhibition open through June 27 in the Mark Chapman Gallery on the first floor of Willard Hall.
A public reception is from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the Chapman Gallery.
The following artists will be displaying their work:
• Berit Bihl received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1972 and Master of Arts in painting in 1979 from K-State and an Master of Fine Arts from University of Houston in Sculpture in 1982.
• Kathi Mayfield received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in prints in 1979 and an Master of Fine Arts in drawing in 2005, both from K-State.
• Sally Thomas received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting in 1984 and a Master of Fine Arts in painting in 1992, both from K-State.
• Marvin Gould received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1978 in painting and drawing at Sam Houston State University and an Master of Fine Arts in drawing in 2007 from K-State.
All of the first Alumni Summer Invitational artists are living and producing works of art here in Manhattan. Each of the artists have excellent reputations in the arts and are well known in the Manhattan community and beyond.
"As a professor at K-State for the last 40 years, I have had the opportunity to work with each of the four artists showing," said Teresa Schmidt, professor of art. "If you have an opportunity to go to the reception, it will be amazing."
