Climate change forum June 16
The Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy will host a public forum about climate change from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Kansas State University Alumni Center's Purple Pride Room. The forum is open to the public.
This discussion will be a deliberation about the issues, values and questions related to climate change. This round table forum is one of only three such events around the country. Participants will assist the Kettering Foundation to develop a discussion guide about the climate change issue to be used nationally.
The lead author of the discussion guide considers these forums "vital in making sure that we have a sound deliberative framework for the nationwide conversation on climate change being rolled out this fall." Charlie Griffin, research assistant professor of family studies and human service and Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy associate, will facilitate the forum.
As part of ongoing collaboration with the Kettering Foundation and National Issues Forums the Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy regularly hosts public forums on current topics of local and national concern.
