Architectural engineering and construction science department hosted Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education Conference
The architectural engineering and construction science department hosted approximately 40 members of the Kansas Industrial Educators Association, an affiliate of the Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education, for a conference from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, to discuss how these high school educators can prepare their students better for a postsecondary education.
The conference included a tour of campus, a meeting with representative of the Office of Admissions, and round robin breakout sessions to educate the attendees about the construction science curriculum. A portion of the group also met with the mechanical and nuclear engineering department for a brief overview of their curriculum.
The conference was coordinated by faculty members Ray Buyle, David Fritchen, Kimberly Kramer, Katie Loughmiller and Russ Murdock, with an introduction by department head Ray Yunk
