Hospitality management, dietetics faculty and students present at school nutrition conference
Several faculty members and students from the hospitality management and dietetics department presented posters at the School Nutrition Research and Best Practices Showcase, Annual National Conference of the School Nutrition Association, in July in Boston. They are:
- Megan Norman, senior in dietetics; Kevin Sauer, associate professor; and Jeannie Sneed, professor and head of hospitality management and dietetics, presented "Research priorities in school food service."
- Kevin Roberts, associate professor, and Amber Grisamore, graduate student, presented "School food service directors' food recall attitudes and behaviors."
- Roberts and Shengjie Fan, graduate student, presented "Food safety practices in child care centers in Kansas."
- Sneed, Sauer, Roberts, Kerri Cole, and Fadi Aramouni presented "Serving Up Science: The Path to Safe Food in Schools." Cole is project coordinator for the Center of Excellence for Food Safety and Child Nutrition Programs in the College of Human Ecology. Aramouni is professor of food science and Extension specialist.
