Kansas State University President Kirk Schulz and Student Body President Reagan Kays will accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at the pep rally at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The challenge has made national headlines as the videos of ice water being dumped over people's heads spread through social media. As a result of the challenge, the ALS Association has received $31.5 million in donations from July 29 to Aug. 20, compared to $1.9 million during the same time frame in 2013.
K-State's Frank Tracz, director of bands, and Amy Renz, CEO of the K-State Alumni Association, challenged Schulz and Kays during their challenge Sunday, Aug. 17, on the front steps of Anderson Hall. Tracz also challenged Matt Smith, director of bands at the University of Kansas.
Renz and Tracz were challenged by the K-State football team captains.
