Information session on broad agency announcements funding opportunities
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will present an information session on broad agency announcements at 1 p.m. on Oct 8. Location will be sent after participants register.
The approximately hourlong information session will explain what broad agency announcements are, tell you where to find them, and show you how to seek funding under them. This funding opportunity type is a little different than the typical request for application. As a result, broad agency announcements really have not been utilized by K-State faculty very much in the past.
Some broad agency announcements stay open for several years and require an initial white paper submission and a follow on proposal if there is interest. Others are driven through specific calls for proposals over the period they are open. Often the funding vehicle is a cooperative agreement, but it can be a contract or grant. Many broad agency announcements are in the engineering and physical sciences, but some are in the biological, political, and social sciences. This is a favored funding type for the military, but National Institutes of Health, Department of Energy and NASA also use them.
If you are interested in attending this session to find out more about broad agency announcements, please send an email to orsp@k-state.edu.
