Cable gives keynote at Latin American Museums Conference
Ted Cable, professor of park management and conservation, recently delivered a keynote at the eighth annual Seminar of Latin American Museology.
This international conference attracted more than 300 museum professionals and students from throughout Latin America. It was sponsored by Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History and the National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museology in Mexico City.
Each year this conference invites a small group of carefully selected world experts to address the attendees. There are no freely-submitted papers or presentations. This year, in addition to Cable, there were presentations by museologists, historians and museum design consultants from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and New Zealand.
Cable's keynote focused on the role of heritage interpretation in Latin American museums.
