Archaeologist presents at regional conference

Donna C. Roper, research associate professor in the sociology, anthropology, and social work department, filled several roles at the 72nd Plains Anthropological Conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She presented a paper, "Viewing the Archaeological Record of the Central Kansas Riverine Area through the Lens of Historical Process" in a general session on Central Plains Archaeology, and immediate following that session, served as co-organizer and moderator of a forum "Central Plains Archaeology: Where are We? Where are We Going?"

She also was an invited discussant for the symposium "Historic Wichita Strategies? Investigating Continuity and Change on the Southern Plains." Roper is the author of an "Assessing the Radiocarbon Age Determinations Dataset amd Revising the Chronology for the Central Plains Tradition" recently published in the journal Central Plains Archaeology.
