Community Cinema: 'American Denial' screening Feb. 23
In conjunction with Community Cinema, HandsOn Kansas State will offer a free screening of the documentary film "American Denial" from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building.
Using the story of Gunnar Myrdal's 1944 investigation of Jim Crow racism as a springboard, "American Denial" explores the power of unconscious biases and how the ideals of liberty, equality and justice still impact notions of race and class today.
Afterward, participants will participate in activities and interact with guest speakers to reach a deeper understanding of the film. Free popcorn and soft drinks will be served.
