Alumni create scholarships to ensure student success
When Jim and Marsha Reed met in their junior-level marketing class at K-State, they never imagined they would eventually marry, launch a successful business and be able to support students at their alma mater.
Through two new scholarships for K-State students, that's just what the Naples, Florida couple is doing.
"Education is the single most important part in looking to the future of our country, our industry and the world," Marsha Reed said.
As owners and operators of Reed Financial Services since 1984, the Reeds have seen the company grow to 10 employees. Now they want to help ensure a similar measure of success for students in K-State's College of Business Administration and the Institute of Personal Financial Planning in the College of Human Ecology.
"The cost of education has been increasing at an amazing rate, and many students must be struggling to see a way to get that wanted education," Jim Reed said. "We hope to make that process a little easier for some students."
