Shatter the Silence lunch hour: Community dialogue on sexual violence on Monday
The Center for Advocacy, Response and Education, or CARE, will host its monthly Shatter the Silence lunch hour from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, in 206 Holton Hall. Any Kansas State University student, faculty or staff member who wishes to be a part of the conversation about addressing sexual violence on college campuses is encouraged to attend.
Sexual violence on college campuses has received a great deal of attention in the national media in the past few months, and the Shatter the Silence lunch hours are a consistent avenue for the campus community to join in the dialogue.
During the lunch hour attendees have the opportunity to openly discuss any thoughts, concerns or feelings they have about this important topic. The CARE advocates will be present to facilitate the discussion, answer questions and aid in reflection on the topic.
Additional lunch hours for the semester will be March 2 and April 6. Anyone who can not attend the lunch hour times but would like to be involved with CARE's efforts, or would like to speak with an advocate in a confidential setting, is encouraged to contact the CARE advocates at 785-532-6444.
