Mathematics Colloquium lecture Feb. 19
Dennis Borisov, University of Gottingen, will present "Counting Points in CY3 and CY4 Moduli Problems" as part of the Mathematics Department Colloquium lecture series at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in 122 Cardwell Hall.
The abstract for the lecture:
I will discuss how Calabi--Yau structures, present in some moduli problems, give rise to shifted symplectic forms on the moduli spaces. Such shifted symplectic forms also appear when one takes derived Lagrangian intersections. In the special case of CY3 this leads to the Donaldson--Thomas invariants. I will discuss what kind of invariants can be obtained in the CY4 case.
