Chilled water expansion project: Work to start March 23 on A2 parking lot, Justin Hall south lawn
Beginning Monday, March 23, the northwest entrance to the A2 parking lot immediately south of Vattier Street will close for the construction of new chilled water pipes. The contractor doing the work will excavate a large pit to a stage boring machine. The contractor will then bore twin 10 inch diameter pipes from that location into the College of Business Administration building, which is currently under construction. Work is expected to take until April 10 before reopening the A2 parking lot entrance.
Beginning as early as Monday, March 23, or as late as March 30, a large pit will be excavated to stage a boring machine on the lawn south of Justin Hall. A new 20-inch-in-diameter steam casing pipe will be bored into the basement of Justin Hall where the connection to existing steam lines are located to connect to the College of Business Administration. The contractor will have to excavate adjacent to Justin Hall near the southeast entry doors to core drill and penetrate Justin Hall's foundation. Work is expected to take 30-45 days.
