Alpha Zeta welcomes new members
Alpha Zeta Agriculture Honor Fraternity welcomed seven new members for the upcoming year. Inductees have achieved a high level of scholarship, leadership, integrity and service in the College of Agriculture and rank in the top 10 percent of their class as sophomores, juniors or seniors. The candidates, who represent six different states and four majors, were selected after an application and interview process.
This year's inductees include Monica Brummett, a sophomore in animal sciences and industry, Wichita; Izabella Carmona, a junior in animal sciences and industry, Glen Gardner, New Jersey; Patrick DeMoe, a junior in agronomy, Waunakee, Wisconsin; Blake Foraker, a sophomore studying animal sciences and industry, Burrton; Chris Reusz, a junior in bakery science and management, Downers Grove, Illinois; Alisha Shurr, a senior in agricultural communications and journalism, Central Point, Oregon; and Youwei Yang, a senior in agricultural economics, Gansu Province, China.
The fraternity of Alpha Zeta, formed in 1897 at Ohio State University, is a professional organization of men and women whose educational and career objectives fall within the field of agriculture and natural resources. Members of the organization strive to develop and promote leadership based on common values and integrity.
The Kansas State University chapter of Alpha Zeta is dedicated to focusing on education and service holding events such as a yearly universitywide speaker and Ask a Farmer week.
