Submitted by Gabriela Diaz de Sabates
On May 26, Gabriela Diaz de Sabates presented an invited paper for the seminar in women's studies, doctoral program, at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. The paper's title is "Life narratives and the politics of transgression: Feminist knowledge at the intersection of race, class, and immigrant status."
Also, supported by an experimental, short-term co-teaching international incentive grant, A Transnational Approach to Gender, Culture, and Migrations, Gabriela Díaz de Sabatés visited the Carlos III University in Madrid to meet with the faculty, graduate students and to identify common readings and topics to coordinate and integrate the syllabus content for her women's studies fall 2015 class at K-State with the women and gender classes at the Carlos III University in Spain. Such curriculum integration concentrates on issues such as migrations, women's life stories and domestic violence.
