K-State Summer Music Camp starts Sunday
The K-State Summer Music Camp will begin Sunday, June 14. About 170 middle school and high school band students will be on campus with the K-State Band program through Thursday, June 18.
The students will be participating in one of two honor concert bands, jazz bands and small ensembles. The campers also will have a lot of fun on campus with trips to the Union's Wabash Cannon Bowl, campus tours, a talent show and two trips to the City Park pool.
The guest conductors for camp this year are Larry Blocher, Troy University, and Jay Gilbert, Doane College. The camp staff includes talented music education students at K-State, the K-State Band graduate staff and recent alumni performers and band directors.
The campers will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in City Park with the Manhattan Municipal Band. The final camp concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in All Faiths Chapel. Admission is Free.
