Looking for faculty who were first-generation students
In planning for a program this fall, Teaching Successes with First Gen Students, we are looking for K-State professors who were first-generation students. Our goal is to have these faculty members as consultants and participants in the program.
We are looking at first generation with a broad criteria. Normally someone who is the first in their family to attend college is a first-generation student. However, someone whose parents attended, but did not graduate also could be considered. The first in one's family to earn a four-year degree, or to attempt a four-year degree, is another way to define.
Please email names of K-State professors who were first-generation students by July 1 to teachingandlearning@k-state.edu.
Thanks for helping us locate these professors.
