Garland Lewis retirement celebration 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 23
The campus is invited to join Housing and Dining Services at a reception honoring Garland Lewis' 42 years of dedicated service. The event will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Jardine Apartments' Frith Community Center, 2002 Tunstall Circle.
Lewis, coordinator of systems administration, began his career with Housing and Dining Services as procurement officer before lending his expertise to the department's information technology needs. He was heavily involved with the implementation of networking capability for the approximately 5,000 on-campus students, a system that has evolved into the department's widely used wireless network. Lewis also single-handedly installed the CBORD Housing Management System at K-State to replace the numerous manual methods previously employed.
Over the past two decades, he has become the preeminent authority on the system outside of company staff. Among his most recent projects is the introduction of a student judicial system, of which usage has extended beyond Housing and Dining Services into other areas of the university.
Please RSVP or send best wishes to Mike Crow at mcrow@k-state.edu.
