Electric vehicle charging stations at K-State Olathe
Electric vehicle charging stations, or EVCS, have recently been installed and activated at K-State Olathe. Olathe resident Greg Orman helped commemorate the occasion serving as K-State's first charging stations user.
The new stations are part of Kansas City Power & Light's expanding Clean Charge Network that will grow to more than 1,100 stations in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area in the next few years. The focus is on geographically dispersed, publicly accessible, high population density, long dwell time areas and workplaces.
"The EVCS represent an extension of K-State Olathe's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability," said Dean Vakas, K-State Olathe's acting CEO. "We are proud to introduce the EVCS to our campus for the convenience of our students, faculty, staff and the general public."
