Educational Opportunity Fund announcement for fiscal year 2017
The Educational Opportunity Fund supports students who have been historically underrepresented. The funding can be used for academic scholarships and fellowships for both graduate and undergraduate students.
Entities may apply for need-based grants that include financial support for students with special expenses or for students who have been historically under-represented in higher education. This fall, the committee will allocate about $370,000 to different entities across campus. The committee is made up of four student senators, four students at-large, the vice president for student life, the director of student financial assistance and the director of the Office of Student Activities and Services.
Applications are due in the Office of Student Activities and Services no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25. Any applications received after this time will not be considered, regardless of delays caused by campus mail or the U.S. Postal Service.

The Board of Regents guidelines requires that a final report be submitted at the end of the fiscal year for which the funds were awarded. Final reports for fiscal year 2015 awards are due in the Office of Student Activities and Services no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8.
