Walkathon to support healthy hearing Sept. 19
Many people don't often give hearing loss much thought. But for 50 million Americans, it is a significant health issue. From newborn babies to senior citizens, hearing loss can impede learning, lead to social isolation and even be life threatening. That's why the K-State Speech, Language and Hearing Association is sponsoring a walk to raise awareness and funds for hearing health through the Sertoma Foundation.
Join us at 9 a.m. Sept. 19 in CiCo Park for CELEBRATE SOUND — Don't Walk In Silence.
Funds will also benefit Manhattan's No Stone Unturned Therapeutic Learning Center and go toward creating a scholarship for K-State students. There will be many activities and events throughout the walk that will get everyone excited for the K-State football game later that day. To participate as a walker, sponsor or a hearing health provider, email lakynfb@k-state.edu.
