Tickets required for Wednesday's 'The U-2 Incident and the Cold War' lecture

Francis Gary Powers Jr. is presenting "The U-2 Incident and the Cold War" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the K-State Alumni Center. He is the son of the U.S. Air Force pilot who was shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960 and held for two years in a Soviet prison.
Powers will speak about the U-2 incident, which he wrote about in his 2003 book "Operation Overflight: A Memoir of the U-2 Incident." Additionally, he served as technical director to the new Steven Spielberg film "Bridge of Spies," which stars Tom Hanks and depicts the U-2 incident.
Powers will sign books at 4 p.m. and a reception will follow at 6 p.m.
