Band concert tonight in McCain Auditorium
The K-State Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. today in McCain Auditorium.
This concert will feature K-State faculty clarinet soloist Tod Kerstetter and internationally renown trombone performer Domingo Pagliucia. The Wind Symphony will perform a mix of classic band literature and new works for band. The Wind Ensemble will perform Scott McAllister's "Black Dog Concerto for Clarinet," featuring Tod Kerstetter, and Jim Beckel's "Concerto for Trombone," featuring Domingo Pagliucia of the Boston Brass. They also will perform Michael Daugherty's "Desi."
The Wind Ensemble was recently selected to perform at this year's College Band Directors National Association Southwest divisional conference in March and was selected to be the premiere performance band at the prestigious 2016 Larry Sutherland Fresno Wind Band Festival.
The K-State Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Frank Tracz and the Wind Symphony is under the direction of Don Linn. Admission to the concert is free.
