Nippert selected as distinguished alumnus by ecology program

Submitted by Jesse Nippert

On Nov. 4, Jesse Nippert, associate professor in the Division of Biology, will give a presentation about his research as part of the Distinguished Ecologist Series to the graduate degree program in ecology at Colorado State University. Nippert was selected as the 2015/16 Distinguished Alumni by the program.

Colorado State's graduate degree program in ecology is an interdisciplinary program and is one of the largest ecology programs in the U.S. Currently, the program is ranked in the Top 5 ecology and environment academic units in terms of faculty research productivity with more than 150 faculty distributed among seven colleges and 22 departments, and more than 150 graduate students in the program at any time.

The Distinguished Ecologist Series brings internationally-known scientists to Colorado State University for two to three days to present their cutting-edge research and to interact with students and faculty in a number of formal and informal settings. These ecologists are nominated by graduate degree program in ecology faculty and students, and chosen by the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology Executive Committee.
