K-Staters present at Kansas College and University Professional Association

Several K-Staters gave presentations at the inaugural Kansas College and University Professional Association, or CUPA-HR, Conference hosted at Kansas State University this week.
Cheryl Grice, Human Capital Services, and Jo Brunner, Manhattan Workforce Center, presented "Connecting with Veterans to Diversify Your Workplace." The session introduced employers to resources to connect to, hire and integrate veterans into the organization. Grice is the senior strategic partner for education, student life, administration and finance, K-State Olathe, K-State Libraries, Global Campus, Graduate School and College of Arts & Sciences.
Melissa Klein, talent acquisition specialist, and Sheila Ellis-Glasper, social media specialist, presented "Social Recruiting: Connect with Your University’s Dream Team." The team shared insight into how employers can incorporate Twitter in recruitment tactics to help recruit top talent. Klein is the university support staff liaison for the police department, president, provost, communications and marketing, research, athletics and Information Technology Services.
James Johnson, talent acquisition specialist, presented "Building a LinkedIn Profile to Attract Top Talent." Johnson shared methods to grab followers' attention and keep them following or applying to become part of an organization’s future. Johnson is the strategic partner for Kansas State Polytechnic; Information Technology Services; Human Capital Services; international programs; and the colleges of Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, Planning & Design and Human Ecology.
