K-State Global Campus to observe National Distance Learning Week Nov. 9-13
Kansas State University Global Campus is celebrating National Distance Learning Week Nov. 9-13 to increase awareness and to celebrate the university's accomplishments in distance learning. Nationally sponsored by the United States Distance Learning Association, the week raises awareness about the opportunity, convenience and success that distance learning offers.
K-State Global Campus continues to help adult students who want to further their education, reaching students across Kansas, in all 50 states and 17 countries. National Distance Learning Week is a way to recognize distance students and the way they are accomplishing their educational goals.
"We will be celebrating distance learning week by asking our students and alumni to share their favorite K-State stories or memories with us as part of the upcoming K-State Global Campus 50th anniversary next year," said Jason Maseberg-Tomlinson, director of student and faculty services at K-State Global Campus."K-State Global Campus has a long history of serving students at a distance, and we are not only coming up on half a century of academic flexibility and success, but also celebrating how far distance education has come and how many new options are now available to students."
Distance students and graduates can participate in National Distance Learning Week by completing an online submission form to share their K-State stories or memories. Three winners will receive K-State prizes. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13.
As part of National Distance Learning Week celebrations, students and alumni also can visit the K-State Global Campus Virtual Open House or a giveaway website with free downloads to showcase their purple pride.
