Union Program Council to host a fourth season of Dancing with the K-State Stars
Get ready to groove as Union Program Council hosts “Dancing with the K-State Stars” for a fourth season. The competition pairs eight K-State stars with dance professionals in a dance-off for the coveted mirror ball trophy.
Each pair spends several hours preparing their two-minute routines with choreographing, learning and perfecting. The audience will see performances by K-State students and faculty ranging from hip-hop to the waltz, from stepping and West Coast swing to the disco and salsa.
The cast of “Dancing with the K-State Stars, Season 4“ are Alex Abendschein, departmental initiatives assistant coordinator for K-State housing and dining services and volunteer firefighter; Sophia Dongilli, College of Arts and Sciences student senator and Union Governing Board vice president; Trevor McCarty, Mortar Board president; Tristan McCarty, K-State volleyball defensive specialist and libero; Kiley Moody, new student services associate director; Bill Smriga, K-State Student Union director; Nate Spriggs, student body president; and Phillicia Thomas, K-State student ambassador. The professionals include Tanniqua-Kay Buchanan, Cari Chestnut, Karla Comacho, Janet Galloway, Kyle Landau, Damien Thompson, Chris Zimmerman and Alex Zolnerowich.
The dance off begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 in McCain Auditorium. Tickets are free, but required for admission. To get tickets, visit the McCain Box Office from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or the K-State Student Union Little Theatre box office from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
