Form I-9 Basics and Compliance session Feb. 24
Submitted by Human Capital Services, Learning and Development
Form I-9 Basics and Compliance, WHR130, will be offered from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Edwards Hall commons area.
Human Capital Services offers this monthly session specifically for K-State employees who are responsible for accurate completion of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form, or Form I-9. The Form I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the U.S. All U.S. employers must ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the U.S. This includes citizens and noncitizens. Both employees and employers — or authorized representatives of the employer — must complete the form.
Participants will learn about the requirements of the Immigration and Reform Control Act of 1986. As a result, the presenter will discuss proper completion of the Form I-9, documents commonly presented and common errors to avoid when completing the Form I-9.
To register for this session, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
