Filing deadline for campuswide elected offices Feb. 12
Each year, students at Kansas State University elect their peers to leadership roles across campus to represent their interests. Student Governing Association, or SGA, is currently accepting filings for various offices until Feb. 12. These offices include student body president and vice president, Union Governing Board, Student Publications board of directors, Student Senate and college councils.
These offices are selected through campuswide elections conducted by SGA. The primary election will be Feb. 22-23 to narrow the student body president and vice president pairings to two. The general election will be March 1-2 to select all the offices.
"Students are given unique leadership opportunities and say in the decisions that are made at K-State," said Bill Harlan, director of the Office of Student Activities and Services and advisor to SGA. "I would encourage students who want to make a difference on campus to consider filing for one of these offices."
Students can file through the Self Service menu on KSIS. Undergraduate candidates must be a full-time student with a minimum K-State GPA of 2.0 while graduate candidates must be enrolled in at least six hours and have a minimum K-State GPA of 3.0.
