Friday First-Gen Focus
This week's film segment is from "A Walk in My Shoes: First Generation Students" and features K-State alumnus Martin Segovia, athletic director and vice principal at Garden City High School. Segovia addresses the vital role played by mentors, those who help first-generation and other students from underrepresented, historically marginalized groups cope with the often unfamiliar and sometimes daunting challenges associated with pursuit of a university education. Many thanks again to the K-State College of Education and the Suder Foundation for production and support of this film project.
