Flush away cancer with Relay for Life
This year K-State is hosting a Relay for Life event on April 13.
To get everyone excited to find a cure for cancer and pay tribute to those who have fought and are fighting cancer, the School of Leadership Studies team is Flushing Away Cancer this year with traveling mini purple toilets!
On March 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Leadership Studies team will have a table in the K-State Student Union. For a $10 donation to Relay for Life, faculty, staff, and students will be able to send a mini purple toilet to the office of faculty or staff members or to a department on campus. On the week of March 12–16, Leadership Studies' "plumbers" will deliver these toilets to the locations donors specified. They will be left for 24 hours, then picked up by the plumbers and moved on. A card explaining Relay for Life’s cause and information about how to get a hold of the plumbers to have the toilet removed will also travel with the toilet.
If a recipient would like the toilet removed sooner they can call the number on the card and a plumber will immediately come and remove it for a suggested donation of $10 to Relay for Life.
