Letter to campus regarding Fake Patty's Day
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Saturday is Fake Patty's Day and, as always, the safety of our students and friends is important.
Please take a moment to talk with students and encourage them to act safely and responsibly this weekend. Kansas State University, along with our partners -- the city of Manhattan, the Riley County Police Department and local business owners -- want students to take care of themselves and others, and know that all laws will be enforced.
Students are asked to use SafeRide or walk rather than drive; practice the buddy system; drink plenty of water; call the police if someone needs assistance; and encourage others to do the same.
During the 2011 Fake Patty's Day, Riley County police issued 1,033 citations, most for alcohol violations. We don't want our students to become a part of those statistics.
Thank you, and be careful, Cats!
