Kansas State University promotes 48 faculty members, 23 receive tenure

Forty-eight Kansas State University faculty members are receiving promotions in rank, while 23 faculty members are earning tenure.

The promotions include 23 faculty members to the rank of full professor, 23 faculty members to the rank of associate professor with tenure, one member to the rank of clinical associate professor and one member to the rank of clinical full professor.

Kansas State University President Kirk Schulz and Provost and Senior Vice President April Mason will congratulate all newly tenured and promoted faculty members at a reception in the spring.

"Each of our new tenured and promoted faculty members have made significant contributions through their teaching, scholarly endeavors and service to their departments and college, as well as to the university, and we celebrate these outstanding achievements with them," Mason said.

Earning promotion to full professor: Daniel Andresen, computer and information sciences; Barry Bradford, animal sciences and industry; Brian Briggeman, agricultural economics; Troy Brockway, aviation; Jianhan Chen, biochemistry and molecular biophysics; Kristan Corwin, physics; Saugata Datta, geology; Slawomir Dobrzanski, music, theatre, and dance; Ying Fang, diagnostics medicine and pathobiology; Philip Hardwidge, diagnostic medicine/pathobiology; Ganga Hettiarachchi, agronomy; Megan Kennelly, plant pathology; Nina Lilja, agricultural economics; Nancy Muturi, journalism and mass communications; Virginia Naibo, mathematics; Sanjeev Narayanan, diagnostic medicine and pathobiology; Anne Phillips, English; Timothy Rozell, animal sciences and industry; Marcia Stockham, content management and scholarly communications; Glynn Tonsor, agricultural economics; Haiyan Wang, statistics; Brad White, clinical sciences; and Anna Whitfield, plant pathology.

Earning tenure and promotion to associate professor: Nathan Albin, mathematics; Laura Bonella, faculty and graduate services; Jessica Canfield, landscape architecture and regional & community planning; Melinda Cro, modern languages; Melia Erin Fritch, undergraduate and community services; Huston Gibson, landscape architecture and regional & community planning; Adriana Gonzalez, faculty and graduate services; Hrant Hakobyan, mathematics; Nathan Hendricks, agricultural economics; Daniel Ireton, undergraduate and community services; Mithila Jugulam, agronomy; Wenjun Ma, diagnostic medicine/pathobiology; Livia Olsen, faculty and graduate studies; Gregory Paul, communication studies; Joelle Pitts, undergraduate and community services; Abdelmoneam Raef, geology; Jeroen Roelofs, biology; Eleanor Sayre, physics; Jeremy Schmit, physics; Deepak Subramony, curriculum and instruction; Carlos Trallero, physics; Eugene Vasserman, computer and information sciences; and Erin Wiersma, art.

David Rankin, clinical sciences, has earned promotion to clinical associate professor, and Diane Mason, clinical sciences, has earned promotion to clinical full professor.
