Chinese University of Hong Kong professor to give 46th William J. Spencer Lecture today
Naichung Conan Leung from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and the Chinese University of Hong Kong will give the 46th William J. Spencer Lecture at 2:30 p.m. today in 1018 Throckmorton Hall. His lecture is titled, "SYZ Transformation in Mirror Symmetry."
Mirror symmetry is a duality between complex geometry and symplectic geometry. In this talk he will explain the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow proposal which explains mirror symmetry via Fourier type transformation along Lagrangian fibrations. He will also discuss recent progress on the SYZ proposal.
