'Adding a Bit More Color to Your Rainbow,' a conversation with Jonathan Paul Higgins
The LGBT Resource Center welcomes Jonathan Paul Higgins, California State University, Long Beach and one of the National Black Justice Coalition's 100 Black Gay Emerging Leaders to Watch, to Kansas State University. Higgins will present at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in the K-State Alumni Center Ballroom. Their discussion, "Adding a Bit More Color to Your Rainbow," will focus on the intersectionalities of race and queerness.
"Though love may continue to win for the LGBTQ community, representation and inclusion for queer people of color in the community has not," Higgins said. "'Adding a Bit More Color to Your Rainbow' will not only include a conversation about the importance of validating intersections, but also will give attention to the lived experiences of queer people of color and why visibility is so important for those who identify within queerness and their intersecting identities."
