Powercat Financial Counseling announces new peer financial counselors
Powercat Financial Counseling recently selected peer financial counselors for the 2016-2017 year. Peer financial counselors assist students with their financial questions and college financial planning decisions, as well as provide free financial workshops and events for students.
The following students are new peer financial counselors: Abby Oberle, sophomore in accounting and finance, De Soto; Scott McGehee, sophomore in personal financial planning, Hesston; Hannah Eilert, sophomore in agribusiness, Jewell; Sydney Johnson, sophomore in economics and finance, Overland Park; Luke Porteous, junior in financial management, Overland Park; Joshua Zdeb, junior in finance, Shawnee; Larissa Liggett, junior in accounting and finance, Tescott; Joshua Harper, junior in personal financial planning, Topeka; Preston Tucker, junior in finance, Wichita; and Kristin Gundersen, junior in finance, Lillehammer, Norway.
Tim Stricker, master's in accountancy, Salina, will be a new graduate assistant for Powercat Financial Counseling for 2016-2017.
Fourteen students also will join Powercat Financial Counseling's Student Advisory Board. The students will be responsible for marketing the financial services of Powercat Financial Counseling to fellow students and hosting interactive financial events throughout the year such as the annual Spring Break Not Spring Broke, Thrifty Gifting, Eating Healthy on a Budget, and Marriage & Money events. They also help promote the free online financial tool, SALT, created by American Student Assistance and sponsored by Powercat Financial Counseling.
