K-State Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers wins national awards at conference
K-State's Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers was recognized with the Gold Award at the annual Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers conference in May. This is the highest student award offered by the institute's Chapter Recognition Program.
K-State's chapter has earned gold status for eight of the past nine years. The awards are determined by chapters' programs and activities, communication and member recruitment and institute participation.
Three K-State chapter members also were awarded national scholarships. Emily Collins, a senior from Manhattan, received the Society for Health Systems Scholarship; Zachary May, a senior from Oberlin, was one of two students to be awarded the IIE Council of Fellows scholarship; and Abigail Hilliard, a senior from Lansing, was one of five students to be awarded the Harold and Inge Marcus Scholarship.
