Pfromm representing K-State at Department of Energy nitrogen activation workshop
Peter Pfromm, professor of chemical engineering, was invited to attend and give one of the overview presentations at a nitrogen activation workshop hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy Basic Energy Sciences program. The workshop is Oct. 20–21 in the Washington, D.C., area.
The goal of the workshop is to document the current state of the art of nitrogen activation and utilization, chart a course for future basic research, and document the results in a leading scientific journal. Pfromm co-authored a report called "Sustainable Ammonia Synthesis" at a spring 2016 workshop, and he is principal investigator of a K-State team awarded a Department of Energy grant to develop a new ammonia synthesis process.
