Poinsettias galore at annual open house
The annual Poinsettia Open House will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center's greenhouse complex.
A variety of poinsettia cultivars produced by students in HORT 570 Greenhouse Operations Management will be on display. Get in the holiday spirit by taking a selfie by the poinsettia tree and sipping some apple cider.
The Friends of the Kansas State University Gardens also will host a poinsettia and amaryllis sale from noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, and 3-5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Gardens' Quinlan Visitor's Center, 1500 Denison Ave. Six-inch potted plants are $10 each or 6 for $50. Proceeds benefit the K-State Gardens.
