Accreditation site visit begins Monday
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The team charged with reaccrediting Kansas State University is coming to campus April 9-11. The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association has accredited the university since 1916. Continued accreditation by the HLC is recognition that the academic and administrative programs and processes at K-State are aligned with the university mission, and that they meet certain quality standards.
The site visit next week will include meetings with students, faculty and staff across campus. The open meeting with students is 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the Little Theatre in the union. The open meeting with faculty and staff follows from 3 to 4 p.m. in Town Hall of the Leadership Studies Building.
A video message from President Kirk Schulz about the process is available at http://www.k-state.edu/hlcstudy/message/
More information about the accreditation process is available at the HLC study website, which includes a link to a PDF of a quick guide to the process.
Members of the team visiting campus are listed online.
