Kansas Day Celebration Jan. 30
Register online for K-State's annual Kansas Day Celebration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 30 at the IGP Institute, 1980 Kimball Ave. This year's theme is about the relationship between Fort Riley and Kansas State University. This year also is the 100th anniversary of the 1st Infantry Division.
Robert Smith, military historian at Fort Riley, will present information about the Fort Riley K-State connections through the years. Gary LaGrange, former Garrison Commander at Fort Riley and founder of SAVE, Service Member Agricultural Vocation Education program, will share his work through SAVE with returning military veterans. Jed Dunham will present "48 Fallen 48 Found" and give a sneak-peak into his research with K-State students who were soldiers in World War I.
We end the celebration with a barbecue lunch.
