Anthropology student obtains national IDEAS Scholars Award

Tuesday Frasier, senior in anthropology, is the recipient of an Increasing Diversity in Evolutionary Anthropological Sciences, or IDEAS, Scholar Award from the National Science Foundation. This national award is conferred to only 15 candidates nationwide.
The award will allow Frasier to present her research on nutrition and cortical bone at this year's American Association of Physical Anthropology Meetings. Frasier has been conducting research with mentor Marta Alfonso-Durruty, assistant professor of sociology, anthropology and social work, as a McNair Scholar.
Frasier also will participate in a workshop for ongoing research topic in biological anthropology, and professionalization modules, as well as mentor groups at the annual meetings of the American Association of Physical Anthropology.
