Thirsty Thursday to discuss Global Campus opportunities
Thirsty Thursdays are back!
The College of Arts and Sciences is hosting a series of Thirsty Thursday gatherings this semester for all university faculty. This week's "Thirsty Thursday" will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Feb. 9 at Tallgrass Taphouse, 320 Poyntz Ave., in the Firkin Event Space on the first floor. The event will focus on online teaching and funding opportunities via Global Campus.
Duane Dunn, Global Campus associate dean, will talk briefly about K-State's Development Grants for fiscal year 2018, K-State's Online Essentials Faculty Development Course, and Global Campus funding for distance education conferences. He and others from Global Campus will be there to answer questions about resources available for building successful online courses, certificates, and programs, as well as funds available for conducting research on online learning.
The rest of the evening will be dedicated to informal discussions about teaching and research opportunities. No RSVP necessary. All disciplines welcome.
Thirsty Thursday is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and the K-State Social Club with appetizers provided by the college.
Save the Dates for future Thirsty Thursdays on Feb. 23 and March 9, and additional Thirsty Thursdays in March and April will be announced later in the semester.
