"Corrective Action for University Support Staff," WTD186 will be offered from 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in 206 K-State Student Union.
This module introduces the concepts of positive discipline and its application on the job. Positive discipline is a systematic approach to correcting job-related deficiencies and/or inappropriate behaviors. It emphasizes the supervisor's role as coach and places the responsibility for improvement on the employee.
As a result of this session, participants will:
- Identify the most common disciplinary problems that supervisors face.
- Understand university guidelines and the four-step discipline procedure.
- Conduct effective coaching sessions with an employee and refer employees with personal problems to an employee assistance program.
- Respond with confidence to the formal appeal of a decision to suspend, demote, or dismiss.
This course is offered in conjunction with the Introduction to Supervision, WTD077, series, therefore, seating is limited.
To register for this session, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to Samantha Roberts at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
