Applications now open for Rural Legal Practice Initiative

The K-State Office of Pre-Law Advising is now accepting applications for the inaugural year of the Rural Legal Practice Initiative. K-State students in any major are encouraged to apply by March 15.
Students should apply in the second semester of their sophomore year or later. They must have declared the pre-law major at the time of application and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The Rural Legal Practice Initiative: A Collaboration of Washburn University School of Law and Kansas State University provides K-State undergraduate students with the opportunity to address the need for quality legal service in the state's rural communities. Participants will gain knowledge and insight concerning the varied legal practice required of rural practitioners as well as develop an understanding of concepts and information needed to successfully complete law school.
Program goals:
- Expose students to the wide variety of careers available in rural communities.
- Provide experiential learning.
- Offer mentoring experiences.
- Provide individual and group immersion trips.
- Provide interaction with guest speakers.
